Why Denizli

The city behind 85% of Türkiye's towel exports.

Denizli is not just one of many production centres. It is the centre. The numbers, the geography and the history all point to the same thing: this is where the world's premium towels and bathrobes are made.

85%

share of national exports

Over 85% of Türkiye's towel and bathrobe exports originate from Denizli-based companies.

$3B

in annual exports

Türkiye exports roughly $3 billion in towels and bathrobes each year — most of it from this region.

#1

in premium & luxury

Denizli is the clear leader in the high-end and luxury segments, particularly for hotel and hospitality.

60+

years of specialisation

The city's textile heritage stretches back generations, with a modern industry that has consolidated since the 1960s.

The industry

Concentration is the advantage.

Denizli is unusual in how concentrated its industry is. Hundreds of manufacturers, finishers, dyers, weaving mills and machinery specialists operate within a small geographic radius. A single buyer can visit five suppliers in a day and still be home for dinner.

This concentration creates the conditions that buyers care about: shorter lead times, deeper specialisation, and a level of horizontal collaboration between firms that simply doesn't exist in dispersed production regions.

Where it goes

Serving the markets that define the category.

Denizli's customers are the buyers who set the standard. American retail chains. European luxury hotel groups. Mediterranean and Gulf hospitality operators. These are the markets that demand consistent quality at meaningful scale, and they have learned, over decades, that Denizli is where to find it.

For exhibitors at Towel Expo, this is the opportunity: the buyers Denizli already serves are the buyers attending. The relationships start with a much shorter distance to cover.

Geography

In south-western Türkiye, two hours from the coast.

Denizli sits in the Aegean region of Türkiye, inland from the major Mediterranean ports. The city has its own international airport with direct connections to Istanbul, and is roughly a two-hour drive from the historic port city of Izmir.

The location matters: close enough to the export infrastructure to keep logistics fast, far enough from the coast to maintain its specialised character. The wider region also includes the natural site of Pamukkale, which makes the trip worth combining for first-time visitors.

Whether you are buying, sourcing, or supplying — Towel Expo brings the people behind these numbers into one room for three focused days.
